Hello Colleagues,
As I mentioned during the college meeting, I plan to form implementation groups on five topics: Student Success and Retention; Research and Creative Activity; Thriving Community; design and launch of the Improvement and Innovation Lab; and conducting equity audits through the Operations and Budget group.
The composition of the implementation groups will vary slightly depending on the topic, but there will be a mix of department chairs, associate deans, staff, college partners, and faculty members. There is value in hearing different perspectives in these groups based on discipline, experience at Boise State and at other institutions, and role currently held.
I’m forming these groups for these reasons:
- To utilize the expertise of a diverse group of people to respond to challenges and seize opportunities connected to key goals for the college
- To provide professional and leadership development for more people in the college
- To support college-level strategic planning implementation
I invite you to send a brief email to (makenziephillips@boisestate.edu) if you would like to join one of the implementation groups. Please specify the group(s) you want to join and write a couple of sentences explaining why you are interested in the group(s).
Compensation: Each faculty or staff committee member who participates actively throughout the year will receive $500 in research funding or supplemental pay at the end of the academic year.
Time commitment: meetings will be held two weeks per month on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and will likely require some preparation outside of meeting times. I do realize this is a popular teaching time, and I regret that this will exclude some people from being able to participate this year.
