In July 2022, Lori Gray, associate professor and director of music education, and alumna Amy Wickstrom, masters of music education, former graduate assistant and teacher for the Boise School District, will present their individual and collaborative research at the International Society for Music Education Conference in Brisbane, Australia held virtually. Lori and Amy presented together for the first time at the 2018 conference in the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan.
Gray will present three individual sessions: “Catherine Elizabeth’s Story: The Life and Voice of a Music Teacher,” “Ensuring a Successful Transition from Doctoral Candidate to Professor” and “The Storied Lives of PreK-12 Music Teachers in the United States.” Wickstrom will present two individual sessions: “Bucket Drumming as an Intervention for Music Educators” and “Universal Design Learning: All Student Voices Represented.” Gray and Wickstrom will present “Establishing Successful Partnerships: Visibility and Voice for the Graduate-Assistant” collaboratively at the conference.
