Theater and Science Co-Star in Two-Part Cosmic Event

The stars are aligned for fun and learning with the two-part “Constellations Collaboration: Stars on Stage” event Feb. 10 and Feb. 17, presented by Boise State University, the Discovery Center of Idaho and Boise Contemporary Theater.

Boise State students, faculty and staff, as well as local high school science, theater arts and creative writing teachers, can attend both events for $5 if tickets are purchased by Jan. 27.

General admission is $15 for “Cosmic Conversations” and $20 for “Constellations.”

Feb. 10: “Cosmic Conversations” at Discovery Center of Idaho
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; discussion begins at 6 p.m.

Dwayne Blackaller, associate artist and education director of Boise Contemporary Theater, will introduce the program. Leslie Durham, Boise State theatre arts professor, and Brian Jackson, physics assistant professor, will lead the discussion.

Feb. 17: “Constellations”
Show starts at 8 p.m.; Talk Back to follow

“Constellations,” written by Nick Payne, is the story of a brilliant physicist, her chance encounter with a beekeeper, and the infinite possibilities of love. Following the play, Durham and Jackson will lead a Talk Back discussion with the director and actors. Note: “Constellations” contains some adult languages and is suitable for PG-13 audiences.
