Campus and Community Engagement

The second ingredient in first-year success is to participate in campus and community engagement opportunities.

What do we mean by campus and community engagement?

It’s about actively participating in the activities, organizations and opportunities that are available to you beyond the classroom.

Good news: in the College of Arts and Sciences we have a lot of options for you. Many of our instructors offer Service Learning courses that allow you to work directly with community partners. We have a wide range of Vertically Integrated Projects that provide opportunities to do hands-on research. And we offer many types of internships where you can apply your learning and gain valuable job experience. Campus and community engagement can help you form relationships with peers, faculty and staff.
