CampUs
Where do technology and addressing need come together? Students in the GIMM program designed CampUs, an app that helps address food waste and feed hungry students on campus.
CampUs, a location-based app using bluetooth beacon technology, notifies nearby students when there is leftover food from catered events on campus so the food does not go to waste.

Campus Food Pantry
Did you know that over 40% of Boise State students do not have reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food?
Boise State’s Campus Food Pantry is set up to help students facing food insecurity. Located in the Dean of Students Office (Campus School Building in Suite 120), students can access the food pantry (M-F, 8a.m. – 5 p.m.) and take whatever they’d like. No application or sign up necessary – just bring your student ID card.
The Campus Food Pantry is sustained by generous contributions from our Boise State Community and outside partners. There are many ways people can get involved, whether it be through physical donations, hosting a food drive, financial donations or volunteering their time, we welcome it all!

Idaho Foodbank
Food insecurity is everywhere in our state – our cities, towns, rural areas and school campuses. The Idaho Foodbank is the largest food bank and distributor of free food assistance in Idaho. From warehouses in Boise, Lewiston and Pocatello, the Foodbank distributes food for millions of meals each year through a network of over 400 community-based partners across the state.
Solving hunger in Idaho is a big challenge that requires many forms of support. Regardless of the form it takes – money, food, time, or resources – your support will go toward reducing hunger and improving the lives of struggling working parents, children and seniors.
