Two recent articles posted to Boise State News recognized the amazing biomedical research being conducted in the Ken Cornell’s lab.
The first was for Dr. Cornell himself, highlighting his June award at the ninth National IDeA Symposium of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Conference. Dr. Cornell received the Outstanding Mentorship and Biomedical Training Award. This award is given to individuals from INBRE programs that demonstrate excellence in mentoring and teaching both undergraduate and graduate students.
The second article featured Biochemistry major Hassan Mohamed, who works in Cornell’s lab. Hassan presented at the 2024 IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) Statewide Research Conference and won second place for the Undergraduate Fellows Student Choice. His award winning research poster is titled “Efficacy of Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma in Inactivating Pathogens on Plant Seeds.” His project was supported by an Institutional Development Award from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and was mentored by Dr. Cornell.
