Ongoing wildfire smoke research from Dr. Luke Montrose, assistant professor in Environmental and Radiological Health Sciences at Colorado State University and member of the Center for Excellence in Environmental Health and Safety at Boise State University, was recently featured on CBS. Since 2020, Dr. Montrose has been recording indoor and outdoor air quality at four nursing and assisted living facilities throughout Idaho and at two nursing and assisted living facilities in Montana. The results thus far show that outdoor air pollution is infiltrating, at varying degrees, into indoor airspace during wildfire smoke events. This research plans to expand into Colorado in 2024.
