Timeline
The academic calendar takes a little getting used to. Planning starts early to recruit the next semester’s students. This timeline will help you stay ahead of due dates. Work U opportunities are typically 13 weeks.
Students spend 10 hours per week on site and 75 minutes each week in the classroom.
Timeline to Receive a Work U Intern for Fall 2024
- February 22, 2024: Deadline to post Work U opportunity on Handshake (How to post your opportunity)
- August 15, 2024: Virtual Mentor Orientation, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. (MST)
- August 19, 2024: Students begin Work U course
- August 26, 2024: Students begin internship with you this week
- November 25 – December 1, 2024: No internship during fall break (Thanksgiving week)
- December 4, 2024: Estimated last week of internship
Timeline for Spring 2025 Work U Internships
- September 20, 2024: Deadline to post Work U opportunity on Handshake (How to post your opportunity)
- October / November: We will reach out to you with information about your student match for your confirmation
- December 6, 2024: Virtual Mentor Orientation, 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. (MST)
- January 13, 2025: Students begin Work U course
- January 20, 2025: Students begin internship with you!
- March 17-21, 2025: No internship during spring break
- Late April 2024: Estimated last week of internship
