COBE Executive in Residence John Bernardo was named a 2015 CR Superstar by CR Magazine.

College of Business and Economics Executive in Residence, John Bernardo, was named a 2015 CR Superstar by CR Magazine. CR Magazine’s Corporate Responsibility Superstars list includes leaders in practicing corporate responsibility, sustainability and shared value. These leaders were nominated by their industry peers and by CR Magazine staff for their innovative thinking and leadership.

John is currently the sustainability strategist at Idaho Power and a national expert on sustainability. He became an Executive in Residence in the College of Business and Economics in the Fall of 2015. John has also served on the Stakeholder Advisory Board for the Responsible Business Initiative since its launch in May 2014. He is also an adjunct professor in the Management Department and a long time contributor to COBE as a guest lecturer and presenter in undergraduate and graduate classes, faculty development workshops, and events for community stakeholders.

A national expert on sustainability, John holds two degrees from The Pennsylvania State University (environmental resource management and biology) and a master of education in science education from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Idaho Power, John established Sustainable Innovations LLC, a sustainability consulting firm assisting businesses in retail, healthcare and packaging, and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, working to implement sustainability into company operations.
