Your student’s safety is important to us. Boise State’s Department of Public Safety operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide police and security services to the campus and community. Here are some resources you and your student should know about.
The 2018 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report outlines crime statistics, campus safety resources, and campus safety policies. Ryan Lawrence, a Boise State senior said, “I read the Annual Security Report every year to ensure that I’m aware of all the resources that the university provides, as well as any spikes in crime that could affect me.” View the security report here.
The Rave Guardian mobile application is available to anyone with a Boise State email address. This free, smartphone-based safety application connects end users directly with Boise State’s Department of Public Safety and/or local law enforcement dispatch centers. Here are some of the features your student can use at their discretion:
- Text or call for safety tops or to request help
- Designate “guardians” who will be notified of their location
- Two-way communication between your student and a law enforcement dispatcher
- Allows your student’s location, medical, and biographical data to be automatically displayed to law enforcement dispatchers when the app is activated
