Welcome Address
By Mark B. Webber, Parent and Family Association President
Hello Boise State parents and family members. My name is Mark Webber and I am your new Parent & Family Association president.
My son Ethan is a junior at Boise State. He is studying marketing and interns at Boise State Public Radio. When I was introduced to the council I was so happy to be able to be part of the team and to get to Boise a few times a year to see him. I also have a daughter, Meagan, who is a junior in high school. I hope she’ll look at Boise State as she starts her college search. My girlfriend Nicole has twin 13-year-old girls that are into cheer and basketball.
I am a New Englander and still have a cottage on a lake in Bridgton, ME. I went to school in Boston at Wentworth Institute of Technology for Computer Science. Following graduation, I went into the U.S. Army as an aviation pilot and platoon leader.
In my work life, I’m the vice president of sales at Vericlave, a cybersecurity company. I travel all over the world to meet with partners within leading industrial control systems, mobile carrier, and networking companies. I began my career as a leader in networking software development and have held leadership positions in several large companies.
I was introduced to the Parent & Family Association when I attended Parent & Family Weekend at the last minute. I was so impressed with the team that I decided to join and am now grateful to help lead the organization. Moving forward, I hope to collaborate more with the faculty and open up more lines of communications with all of you parents and family members. Please reach out and say hello. I love hearing from people to learn about your experiences and thoughts.
