Research Strategy, Organization, and Core Service
We propose building the COBRE research infrastructure in ways that specifically will improve matrix biology research funding competitiveness at Boise State University. Research techniques required to answer questions within this research theme lie at the molecular level. Therefore, as we consider the overall center organization and core services, we select instrumentation that enhances existing strengths in biomolecular analysis. Proposed enhancements for imaging, bioinformatics, modeling, genomics, proteomics, and the care and housing of research animals are complementary to one another and amenable to operation as shared facilities across campus. These resources will support multiple researchers, projects, and disciplines and are justified by the forecasted use by project investigators.
