Stationery, both printed and electronic, are universally used across campus. They are the foundation of Boise State’s visual identity program. Adherence to the stationery standards enhances the university’s professional image and strengthens our brand as well as saving the university money. Use the buttons below to order all Boise State stationery and envelopes.

Individual schools, departments and other units may not create their own stationery or envelopes without permis­sion from the Brand Committee (brand@boisestate.edu). Because of the potential for poor quality, departments are not allowed to design their own stationery on personal computers, nor is it permitted to have stationery printed at off-campus locations.

Ordering Process

Boise State University has partnered with a local printing vendor, AlphaGraphics, to create an online store for ordering official university business cards and letterhead. Faculty and staff will use their university credentials to login via single sign-on, select products, enter customizable business card or letterhead information, view and approve instant proofs, and pay with their P-cards, all in one easy self-service transaction.

Prior to printing, each business card and letterhead order will go through a quick brand review where each design will either be approved and sent to print or changes made and a revised proof sent back to you for final review and approval before printing.

Place a Letterhead Order

Letterhead Guidelines

With more than a quarter of a million pieces printed every year, stationery is one of Boise State’s most visible and frequently used forms of printed communication. Consistent and coordinated use of Boise State University visual identity elements on stationery is a vital part of preserving and enhancing the value of the Boise State University brand.

Boise State University has one official format for academic and administrative letterhead, envelopes, mailing labels, and business cards. To ensure consistency, all Boise State stationery uses approved templates.

Individual schools, departments and other units may not create their own stationery or envelopes without permis­sion from the Brand Committee (brand@boisestate.edu). Because of the potential for poor quality, departments are not allowed to design their own stationery on personal computers, nor is it permitted to have stationery printed at off-campus locations.

  • Information printed on stationery and envelopes should fit the template design shown, as shown in the sample above. There shall be no deviation from the positioning of the various elements of the stationery, envelopes, or the fonts utilized.
  • Departments should not attempt to duplicate the stationery or envelope on a computer. Rather, standardized stationery must be used by all university offices.
  • With approval, additional information (such as boards of directors) may be added as a list at the bottom of the page.
  • Stationery is printed in school colors as utilized for the logo. If two color envelopes are not appropriate for use, one color blue may also be used.
  • No graphic images other than the university logo may be displayed on Boise State stationery.
  • University stationery may not be personalized, except for approved exceptions.  If an exception is required, please email brand@boisestate.edu for consideration.
  • Additional lines may be included to be department specific, but the footer should not include personalized names. Vice Presidents and Deans may order stationery personalized with their title.
  • The Boise State watermark insignia appears on all stationery. For mass mailing, a non-watermark stock may be utilized.

Envelopes

Place an envelope order

A standardized envelope format must be used for official university communications. Individual schools, departments and other units may not create their own envelopes without permission from the Director of Trademark Licensing who will seek approval from the Branding Committee. Because of the potential for poor quality, departments are not allowed to design their own envelopes on personal computers, nor is it per­mitted to have envelopes printed at off-campus locations, To ensure consistency, all Boise State envelopes use approved templates.

Usage Guidelines

  • Usage guidelines for the logo apply to envelopes.
  • Information printed on envelopes should fit the template design shown in the sample below. There shall be no deviation from the positioning of the various elements on the envelope or the fonts utilized.
  • The format can be slightly modified to accommodate additional lines. Information that may be included on the envelope return address is limited due to postal regulations.
  • No graphic images other than the university logo may be displayed on Boise State envelopes. Companion Logos for schools, colleges, departments, units, centers, institutes or facilities are prohibited in order to maintain the consistency of university identity.
  • University envelopes may not be personalized, except for approved exceptions.
  • Envelopes may be ordered in two color (blue and orange) or one color (blue).

Electronic Letterhead

As with business cards and physical stationery, electronic letterheads are produced from approved templates to ensure consistency.  The layout of the letterhead as described in the Boise State Brand Standards may not be redesigned.

This template for electronic letterheads is to be used only for communications sent via e-mail or other digital platforms. It is not intended to replace official university stationery.

Electronic letterheads should not be printed out and used for mailing, as the integrity of the colors and branding could be compromised. It contains low-resolution images and does not reproduce well when printed, especially due to the fact that color reproduction varies from printer to printer.

Electronic letterheads may be department specific, but the footer should not include personalized names.  Vice Presidents and Deans may order letterheads personalized with their title.
