Ph.D. Scholarships and Funding

Graduate Assistantships

The Biomolecular Sciences Ph.D. Program offers teaching assistantships (TA) on a competitive basis (please see Ph.D. Student Handbook). Our current annual stipend for a TA is $25,000. The assistantship also includes full tuition, fees and student health insurance. Students accepted on program-funded assistantships are guaranteed a minimum of three years of support provided satisfactory performance is demonstrated in all areas. Students are typically supported for the first two years via a teaching assistantship, followed by a research assistantship (RA) in the third year. Thereafter, the major advisor covers the assistantship from grants.

Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship: Boise State Pacific Northwest Graduate Fellows Program

Boise State’s Pacific Northwest Graduate Fellows Program will support 12 graduate student candidates from domestic underrepresented minority backgrounds, who are pursuing graduate studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. The Bridge to Doctorate Program is designed to support students through the critical first two years of graduate study. Learn more about the Bridge to Doctorate Fellowship program.

BMOL Ph.D. TRAVEL GRANTS

The Biomolecular Sciences Ph.D. Program supports graduate student travel by providing up to $1,300 per trip for attendance at two scientific meetings during the student’s program of study. Travel requests should be directed to a Program Administrator and must be accompanied by proof of presentation at the scientific meeting (e.g., acceptance of poster presentation, seminar, etc.). The major professor should indicate their support of the student’s travel and whether they are able to cover any additional incurred travel costs.
