Maria Pou (Ph.D. Student) just recently finished participating in the National Center for Genomic Resources (NCGR)/NM-INBRE Differential Gene Expression workshop. The workshop has competitive admission and Maria was one of nine students accepted from various states. The virtual workshop teaches hands-on analysis and how to work with your raw RNA sequences. It covers basic Linux skills, R skills, and then various applications of how to analyze your data. Earlier this year, Maria was able to get mRNA-sequencing done on various cancer cell lines treated with proteins of interest, with the help of an Idaho INBRE Technology Access Grant. She was able to learn some useful tools on how to analyze her specific mRNA sequences.
