The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories is seeking temporary technicians to serve as groundwater field samplers for the Idaho Department of Water Resource’s Statewide Groundwater Quality Monitoring Program. Employees in these positions must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
Overnight travel may be required for some of the technicians as some sampling locations are outside the Boise region. Please note that these are temporary, non-benefitted positions expected to last a minimum of seven weeks. These positions may be scheduled to work up to 40 hours per week.

- Salary: $16 hourly, plus per diem, up to $55 per day, when traveling overnight (lodging provided)

Examples of Duties
- Travel to remote locations for sample collection
- Coordinate site sampling visits with private well property owners
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Complete electronic field sampling notes
- Operate, calibrate and maintain field equipment including water level, pH, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen meters
- Collect water quality samples for laboratory analysis
- Conduct depth to water measurements on wells
Minimum Qualifications
- Some knowledge of scientific methods
- Experience in data collection and compilation
- Must have a valid driver’s license
