Andrus Scholars Program

Each year, the Andrus Center for Public Policy offers sponsored internships for Boise State students with an environmental focus, providing them with valuable work experience. While we primarily market to students focusing on Environmental Studies, we’ve accepted students with various majors and minors in the past. This year, the application will be open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

Students that are selected will:

  • Participate in a 10-week internship over the summer months
  • Receive a $7,000 stipend to cover internship credit hours, provide a living wage, and other related expenses
  • Earn meaningful work experience and skill development
  • Receive a Letter of Recommendation upon request
  • Along with free attendance to select Andrus Center for Public Policy events and conferences

This year, we have seven placements at the following organizations/agencies:

  • Advocates for the West
  • Birds of Prey NCA Partnership (BOPP)
  • Bureau of Land Management
  • Harris Ranch Wildlife Mitigation Association
  • Idaho Conservation League
  • Idaho Department of Fish and Game
  • USDA Forest Service, Boise National Forest (tentative placement)

Descriptions for each of the placements are located on our website along with more information, and a link to the application.

Applications will close on February 10, 2025.
