Katrina grew up in chilly southern Colorado, the land of cool sunshine. Her parents are from Argentina and during a childhood visit to Patagonia she strolled leisurely with a group of penguins and has drawn them ever since.
Her illustrations have won awards from 3×3 Magazine, Applied Arts Magazine, Creative Quarterly Magazine, CYMK Magazine, Society of Illustrators West, and Cultural Association Teatrio’s 15th Annual Competition of Illustration.
She created illustrations for two international picture books, “La Visita De Los Troles” – Spain, and “El Gato E O Macaco” – Portugal.
After working as a freelance illustrator and teaching in various colleges in New York City and Philadelphia for 15 years, she now teaches at Boise State University as an Assistant Professor of Illustration.
