Master of Graphic Design, North Carolina State University
Eryn Pierce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University. In 2016, Eryn received a certificate in User Experience Design from the Neilson Norman Group. During her Master’s program at North Carolina State University, she was involved in accessibility classroom training and conducted research within the universal, adaptable, and accessible design space.
Today, her research centers on how technology, specifically augmented reality (AR), can assist in reconnecting people to nature, and her teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of a cross-disciplinary approach when working within the design field. She currently teaches at Boise State University through a systems thinking lens and enjoys incorporating new technologies and platforms to deliver her curriculum.
She has presented work at the Design History Society Conference in the UK, at MECA’s Futurespective Convivium in Portland, ME, and was a contributor to Arzu Ozkal & Tricia Treacy’s publication, Situated Between Vol. 3. In 2013, she was a participant in the two-week-long Think Wrong design workshop, Project M, in Greensboro, AL. Her work was featured in GOOD Magazine.
