While developing solid theoretical foundations art education students participate in formal, community based, and service learning teaching environments to cultivate a reflective art teaching practice.

In addition to working with local schools the art education program draws purposely on local community arts and cultural organizations and other multicultural resources to influence the creation of innovative and relevant K-12 art curricula by art education students.
