The Master of Fine Art, Visual Arts program immerses students in an interdisciplinary environment that encourages innovative work in the studio and beyond. The three-year program fosters students’ creative, intellectual and professional development as artists who create excellent work, can discuss and contextualize their work cogently and are prepared to enter various career paths.

Coursework emphasizes studio practices, art history courses and seminars focusing on contemporary topics. An active Visiting Artist and Scholars Program brings world-renowned artists and scholars to campus who offer lectures, workshops and graduate studio critiques. The program culminates in an exhibition of a body of work, a written analysis that supports the work and an oral defense of both.
