University Anniversaries – 2023

1933 (90) The Roundup (predecessor to The Arbiter) published its first issue
1953 (70) The pipe organ donated by Laura Moore Cunningham dedicated (still housed in the Hemingway Center)
1973 (50) Special Collections and Archives established in the Library
1978 (45) John Keiser named fourth President
1978 (45) Michael Hoffman is the first student to win a Rhodes scholarship
1983 (40) Main Line Dancers first performance at Boise State
1988 (35) Boise State Radio became a National Public Radio affiliate
1993 (30) Charles Ruch became the fifth President
1993 (30) Boise State and Boise Urban Stages sign agreement for students, faculty, and staff to ride city buses for free
1998 (25) First Gene Harris Jazz Festival
2003 (20) Robert Kustra became the sixth President
2003 (20) University Square Apartments opened
2008 (15) Educator and astronaut Barbara Morgan began as the first Distinguished Educator in Residence
2013 (10) Online nursing degree began
