Graduate Funding

Students enrolled in the MA and MAA graduate programs have several funding opportunities available to them.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistantships provide financial assistance to degree-seeking graduate students through a mentored university employment experience. As a Graduate Assistant, students participate in work obligations and educational and developmental activities.

Graduate Assistantships Include:

  • Work obligation – work for the university is assigned by the supervisor and the student receives compensation in the form of a salary.
  • Tuition and Fees – the assistantship includes payment of resident tuition and fees (non-resident fees are waived).
  • Health Insurance – the assistantship covers full payment of the Boise State GA Group employee health insurance plan.

Scholarships

Department Scholarships

The Anthropology department has several scholarships that are available to graduate students. To apply for these scholarships, go to the Boise State Financial Aid web portal. Please review our scholarships webpage for a complete list of scholarship opportunities available through the Anthropology department. Additional private and/or national scholarship opportunities

Private Scholarships

Additional private and/or national scholarship opportunities for graduate students may be available. Check the Boise State Financial Aid Office Private Scholarships page for additional opportunities.

Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP)

The Western Reginal Graduate Program (WRGP) allows master’s students who are residents of Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) member states to enroll in graduate programs at some 60 public institutions outside of their home state and pay resident tuition.
