Chapter Nine: The Human Population

Objective: Explain why different countries may be at different stages of the demographic transition.

People are migrating away from villages for jobs and education, because their way of life is changed. The cost of living, the western way of life is expensive and the natural or native way of life, is declining, many native people still try to live their old ways, but they face a reality, the western way of life continues to grow and is their main source of providing for themselves, although they cling onto ways of life. (Demientieff)

Objective: Describe three problems caused by rapid human population growth.

It is very difficult to maintain a subsistence way of life now. Many people have moved out of the villages and into cities. They don’t migrate with the seasons anymore. (Demientieff)
