Project Synopsis:
This project was granted to Dr. John Ziker of Boise State University under the Fulbright Canada Eco Leadership Program.
The goal of this project is engage college students and local native community members to introduce students (K-12) to indigenous ecological knowledge and encourage holistic human engagement with the environment. The project will develop promotional and educational materials (provided through this website), and pilot outreach efforts that will include a local symposium with experts and Native American tribal members to learn the history about the indigenous uses and perspectives on the local environment. The project will develop a hands-on education experience for Idaho public service school student, will provide professional development for BSU students, and will encourage respect for Native American tribes and their traditional knowledge of the region.
