DLS Civic Engagement Fair

As part of Boise State University’s Distinguished Lecture Series, the Institute for Advancing American Values will host a civic engagement fair in ExtraMile Arena. After Distinguished Lecture Series speaker David Brooks concludes his remarks and the question and answer session with the audience is finished, an area of ExtraMile Arena will be open to the public for 45 minutes to visit with representatives of organizations seeking to recruit volunteers and members.

FAQs

Is there a cost for participating organizations?

No, this is a free event to organizations and the public.

Will tables and chairs be provided?

Yes, for every organization that pre-registers one table and two chairs will be provided.

What can organizations bring?

Organizations can bring tablecloths, fliers, and other display items that will fit on a 6′ long table. There will not be room for easels or access to electrical outlets.  If organizations would like a tablecloth to be provided, please indicate on the DLS Civic Engagement Fair RSVP form.

When can organizations set up their tables?

Organizations will be required to come to the ExtraMile Arena prior to the start of the Distinguished Lecture Series set up their tables.  Organization representatives are asked to sit in general audience seating during the speaker presentation.  Set-up start time TBD.

What organizations can participate in the DLS Civic Engagement Fair?

The civic engagement fair is open to all organizations that bring people together for some activity that is not illegal under state and federal law.
