About the Award
The Partners in Philanthropy Award is awarded during the Campus Awards ceremony, put on by the Division of Student Affairs. These awards will give public recognition to individuals whose philanthropic efforts on behalf of Boise State University have created a positive impact. The awards are based on an individual’s extraordinary service and volunteerism in philanthropy. An anonymous committee of students selects the award recipients, Boise State staff from the Division of Student Affairs, and University Advancement. Each awardee is presented with a custom plaque, and a video is produced for the recognized recipient. We award up to 4 recipients made up of a student or student organization, faculty member, staff member, and alumni or donor.

Taylor Reid
Taylor’s impact began a few semesters ago when he saw that his fellow veteran students were graduating and wanted to celebrate their success with them. He offered his time, equipment, and talent to create free graduation photo sessions, and then he put out the call. The response was overwhelming. What began as a simple kindness has had an unintended impact. He has created a new space to champion the accomplishments of each individual, encouraging them to celebrate themselves; moreso, he invites their support systems to be recognized as well. Often, the photos he takes include family and friends, organically showing each person’s journey. Many do not know the challenges faced by veterans as they build their student identities. His efforts have a profound impact on his community by demonstrating the possibilities, the unseen sacrifice, and the rewards of this achievement. His support of fellow Veteran students is the epitome of philanthropic energy. He not only captures the memory of each graduate’s success, he celebrates each person.
In this, the gift he gives is as lasting as the photographs they will take away.
