The Alumni Legacy Scholarship was established by the Boise State Alumni Association in 2003 to celebrate family traditions of attending Boise State University. Recipients are chosen by the Alumni Association Scholarship and Awards Committee. The deadline to apply is Feb. 15 every year.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is a four-year, renewable full-tuition scholarship for incoming first-year students available to the relative of a Boise State alum, who is a current member of the Boise State Alumni Association. Applicant must be a relative of an alumna or alumnus of Boise State. The applicant will receive preference if the alumni relative is a parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, step-parent or legal guardian of Boise State University, Boise State College, or Boise Junior College. The scholarship amount is equal to in-state fees during the fall and spring semesters.
Alumni Legacy Stipend
The Alumni Legacy Stipend is a one-time $2,000 award. Eligible candidates must be a continuing full-time Boise State undergraduate or graduate student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and who have at least one relative who is a Boise State alum. Preference is given to candidates whose relative is a parent, stepparent, legal guardian or grandparent and is a current alumni association member. Four stipends are awarded each spring to students who graduated from an Idaho high school in one of the four defined geographic regions (one per region, based on the location of graduating High School).

The relative of the applicant is a parent, step parent, legal guardian, grandparent, or great-grandparent (rather than aunt, uncle, sibling, etc.) of an alum who graduated from Boise State University, Boise State College, or Boise Junior College
- The relative of the applicant is an alum has earned a minimum of 25 credits from Boise State University, Boise State College, or Boise Junior College
- The relative is a current dues-paying member of the Boise State University Alumni Association
- The applicant is an incoming freshman
- Minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.5
- Enrolled as a full-time fee-paying student
- Resume (resume template available here)
- Submitted copy of your official high school transcript
- Completed Essay (no more than 500 words; found within the scholarship application website) “How have you used Blue Turf Thinking in your life through work, school or other activities?”
Support Alumni Legacy Scholars
The scholarship amount is equal to in-state fees during the fall and spring semester. It was established by the Boise State Alumni Association in 2003 to celebrate family traditions of attending Boise State University. The fund has generated more than $2 million in funds since its inception and is supporting 21 student scholarships in the 2023/24 academic year.  Alumni association membership dues and the Boise State Auction help to support this fund.

The first year you buy the plates, there is a $35 initial fee of which $25 goes toward the Alumni Legacy Scholarship Fund each additional year, there is a $25 annual renewal fee of which $15 goes toward Boise State scholarships.
