Jocelyn is a driven and multifaceted individual, recognized for her leadership and dedication to academic and athletic excellence. As a standout athlete, Jocelyn’s talent on the soccer field earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as a two-time Mountain West First Team Defender and three-time Boise State Defensive MVP. Her leadership qualities were highlighted through her designation as team captain and a member of the leadership group.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Jocelyn excelled in academics and was honored as the Physical Chemistry Student of the Year in 2023. She became deeply involved in research under the mentorship of Dr. Ken Cornell, focusing on exploring the effectiveness of cold atmospheric pressure plasma in combating pathogens, with a particular emphasis on reducing foodborne illness. A recipient of the Dr. Ralph Jones Pre-Medical Research Fellowship, Jocelyn delved deeper into this field, presenting her findings at multiple statewide conferences.

Beyond her academic and athletic pursuits, Jocelyn’s commitment to serving others is evident through her volunteer work at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and as a resident physician assistant. These experiences, along with her sports medicine internship, have reinforced her desire to pursue medicine and research. Jocelyn’s journey at Boise State University has equipped her with a unique blend of experiences and skills. She is excited to use her knowledge in the medical field, where she hopes to make a meaningful impact in healthcare and beyond.
