Biography

Angel Casiano is recognized for his commitment to legal research, public service and institutional impact. As a McNair research fellow at Boise State University, Casiano’s research focuses on the precursors to police use of deadly force, utilizing statistical analysis to examine social and economic influences on law enforcement interactions. His findings were presented at the University of Maryland McNair Scholars and Undergraduate Research Conference, contributing to critical discussions on justice and policing.

Casiano has gained extensive experience in the legal field through prestigious internships, including serving in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice at the U.S. Supreme Court, where he conducted research for judicial briefings and contributed to high-level discussions on legal policy. As an intern at the Ada County Courthouse and the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program, he worked directly with court staff and attorneys to assist marginalized communities, providing translation services and legal support in civil and criminal law.

Beyond research and legal advocacy, Casiano is dedicated to service and leadership. As a Capital Connection Fellow, he is expanding his professional network and policy expertise in Washington, D.C. His work as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Cancer Institute demonstrates his dedication to patient advocacy, ensuring language accessibility and support for Spanish-speaking patients undergoing treatment.

Casiano is from Paul, Idaho.
