Boise State Physics’ Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve STEM Network will host an eclipse viewing party on Saturday, Oct. 14 to gather with fellow friends and alumni of Boise State to see this once-in-a-lifetime event and learn more about the history and science behind solar eclipses.
Timeline of Event
- 7:30 a.m. – Doors Open to the Special Event Center at the Student Union
- 8:30 a.m. – Presentation on Solar Eclipses
- 9:30 a.m. – Eclipse Begins (Will be Viewed Outside at the Student Union Intramural Field)
- 10:24 a.m. – Eclipse Reaches Climax
- 11:48 a.m. – Eclipse Ends
Donations to our PonyUp campaign will support Boise State’s astronomy outreach program, including the purchase of eclipse shades and the First Friday Astronomy programs. **Solar eclipse glasses will be offered with a donation to the PonyUp campaign. Glasses ordered after Sept. 29, 2023, will only be available for pick up from Boise State’s campus.**
