State colleges praised for work to help blind students

The National Federation of the Blind recently lifted up Tennessee’s largest network of public colleges as a national model for effectively using technology to help blind and disabled students succeed. The federation honored Tristan Denley, vice chancellor for academic affairs at the Tennessee Board of Regents, for his work to improve accessibility of course materials like a syllabus or worksheet. The organization recognized Denley during its annual convention, held in Orlando, Fla. in early July.
