The Office of the Provost is in the process of establishing a Professorial Performance Award. Tenured faculty at the rank of Professor will be eligible to apply for this award during their periodic post-tenure review process. The Professorial Performance Award is a recognition of those who continue to perform in an exemplary manner through service, teaching, scholarship, innovation, leadership, and other professorial achievements. It is intended both to recognize those professors whom faculty should emulate, and to reward professors who show outstanding leadership at the University.
Those selected for the award will receive a base salary increase of $6,000 (in addition to that provided for by the annual evaluation process). This new award will be coupled with the current timeline for the periodic post-tenure review process and will be implemented pending creation of review criteria at the university, college and department level as well as revision of our current post-tenure review standards and procedures. Consistent with the time frame of the post-tenure review process, professors will be eligible every 5 years for one of these awards. We are pleased to be able to develop an award that recognizes outstanding performance in our senior faculty.
Please watch for more information this fall on this award.
