The Provost’s Office is pleased to announce the approval of a central budget request to increase faculty promotions, as well as minimum salaries for lecturers and adjuncts.
The proposed adjustments will lessen salary deficiencies by augmenting the pre-established increases associated with promotion for both tenure track and non-tenure track faculty. Furthermore, adjusting the minimum baseline for lecturers and adjunct faculty is an important step in being more competitive with faculty salaries.
It should be noted that while promotional increases generally remain constant for multiple years, the adjunct rate and minimum lecturer rate may increase periodically in accordance to a Change in Employee Compensation (CEC) allocation from the state. The minimum salaries for lecturers and adjuncts listed below are before any change associated with the CEC rate in FY24. As with all faculty appointments, there are salary ranges across disciplines and these minimum salaries do not preclude individual units from contracting at higher market rates.
The following increases will be distributed effective FY24:
FACULTY (increase of $2,000):
Promotion to Assistant Professor from +$3,000 to +$5,000 (+$2,000)
Promotion to Associate Professor from +$7,000 to +$9,000 (+$2,000)
Promotion to Full Professor from +$10,000 to +$12,000 (+$2,000)
LECTURER (increase of $1,000-$1,500)
Promotion to Lecturer 2 from +$1,000 to $2,000 (+$1,000)
Promotion to Lecturer 3 from +$1,500 to $3,000 (+$1,500)
Lecturer 1 minimum salary, from $43,175 to $44,175 (+$1,000)
Lecturer 2 minimum salary from $45,350 to $46,350 (+$1,000)
Lecturer 3 minimum salary from $47,750 to $48,750 (+$1,000)
ADJUNCT:*
The Step 1 minimum pay rate is $1,159 + $50 per credit hour
The Step 2 minimum pay rate is $1,201 + $50 per credit hour
The Step 3 minimum pay rate is $1,266 + $115 per credit hour
The Senior Step 3 minimum pay rate is $1,266 + $115 per credit hour
*Please note that for the Adjunct Rate – only those paid the minimum will receive the $50 or $115 increase.
