UF 200 PROPOSALS

CALL FOR UF 200 COURSE PROPOSALS

We are pleased to announce that University Foundations will be accepting proposals for new and renewing UF 200 courses this fall. Approved courses will be offered at least annually during an initial three-year cycle: Fall 2025 through Summer 2028.

UF 200, Foundations of Ethics and Diversity, is a discussion-based, 30-student thematic course that addresses Boise State’s University Learning Outcomes for Ethics and Diversity. Current and past instructors consistently report that this course is one of their most engaging and meaningful teaching experiences. Individual instructors use different examples, case studies, and thematic topics to help students explore important ethical ideas and values together, giving equal voice to all who are committed to the public good.

Proposal Submission Steps

OPTIONAL AMERICA250 OPPORTUNITY

Are you considering teaching a UF 200 course related to American civics, history, or values? The Institute for Advancing American Values and University Foundations are partnering to support faculty who choose to develop a course with a theme related to American values (like free expression, pluralism, public education, liberty, civil discourse, or representative government). Faculty are invited to apply for our optional America250 program. If your application is accepted, you will receive a $5,000 grant for participating in a Spring 2025 faculty learning community and teaching the course you propose at least three times between Fall 2025 and Spring 2027.

This opportunity is connected to the America250 initiative celebrating America’s upcoming Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. Learn more about this opportunity by reviewing the America250 UF 200 Course Proposal Supplement below.
