Reports

Kuali CM provides reports on courses, programs, emphases, GEC foundations, agendas, and policies. Reports can be used to access, analyze, and filter curricular data. They can be exported to Excel and viewed within Kuali.

How to Run and Use Reports

Start a Report

Start a Report

  1. Log in to Kuali CM
  2. On the left-hand navigation panel, click Reports.
  3. Choose the item you want to query: Course, Program, GEC Foundations, Emphasis, or Agenda.

Report Basics

Add and Remove Columns

  1. Click the Actions tab in the right-hand panel.
  2. Click Configure Columns.
  3. Select or deselect form fields to add or remove as columns.
  4. Click Select All Columns or Deselect All to adjust all columns.

Reorder Columns

To reorder form field columns:

  1. Click the Actions tab in the right-hand panel.
  2. Click Configure Columns.
  3. Drag and drop fields into the desired order.

Filter Data

  1. Click the Filters tab in the right-hand panel.
  2. Select a filter (e.g., status, date last modified). Please note: Data will automatically reflect any applied filters.
  3. To remove a filter, click the X next to the filter label.

To use advanced filters:

  • Click the slider to enable advanced filters.
  • Select a form field.
  • Select an operator (e.g., is, contains, is empty).
  • Enter a value or select from dropdown.
  • Click OK, or click the plus icon to add additional filters. Note: only one filter may be applied to a single field at a time.
  • Click Cancel to remove filters.

Save a Report

  1. From within a report, click the Actions tab in the right-hand panel.
  2. Click Save Report.
  3. Enter a title.
  4. Click OK or click out of the box to cancel.

Download a Report

  1. From within a report, click the Actions tab in the right-hand panel.
  2. Click Download CSV.

Delete a Saved Report

  1. Click Reports in the navigation panel.
  2. Click on the trash icon in line with the specific report to delete in the Saved Reports panel at the bottom of the screen.

Helpful Terms

Report Types

Program: all undergraduate and graduate majors, minors, and certificates. Does not include emphases or options.

GEC Foundations: documentation for General Education Curriculum, which are Boise State’s University Foundations courses (FA, FS, FF, etc.)

Emphasis: emphases or options attached to a program. Emphasis or option requirements are listed separately from the major.

Agenda: view agendas created by users for curriculum meetings.

All Courses Owned by a Specific Department or College

  1. From within a course report, click the Filters tab.
  2. In the Groups section, type and select the department or college.
  3. If desired, click the actions tab and download CSV to export the data to Excel.
