Nick Panico played basketball for Boise Junior College from 1955 to 1957. Nick helped the Broncos to two Regional Championships and two appearances at the National Junior College Basketball Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. During the 1955-56 season he averaged 18.9 points per game to lead the Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference. He was also selected first team All-American as a freshman. As a sophomore in 1956057 he again led the team, and conference, in scoring and helped the Broncos to their first Intermountain College Athletic Conference Championship. The team went on to finish fourth at the national tournament. Nick was named to the second team junior college All-American squad in 1957. Boise State’s record during Nick’s two seasons as a Bronco was 45-13, including an overall record of 25-6 in 1956-57.
