Markus Koch was one of the best defensive players to ever suit up for the Broncos. Recruited from Canada, he played from 1982 to 1985. Koch was a three-time All-American selection, receiving the honors from the Associated Press in 1983, and the Associated Press and Kodak in 1985. For three consecutive years he was selected first team All-Big Sky Conference (1983-85). Koch played in the 1985 East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl and then was a second-round draft choice of the Washington Redskins. He played for the Redskins from 1986 to 1991, helping Washington win Super Bowl XXII in January of 1988.
