How Do I Enroll?
The procedure for beginning an internship is rather simple. First the student contacts Suzan Raney in the Department of Criminal Justice at (208) 426-4114 for more information. Next the student will contact the relevant person at the law firm, corporation or agency that the student is interested in working with. Typically, the contact person from the internship site will meet with the student to discuss the internship possibilities. If the student and the contact person at the agency agree to an internship, the student will make an appointment with Suzan Raney to complete relevant paperwork.
Internship Requirements and Grades
The hours requirements for an internship are as follows: A student must complete 150 hours of work at an internship site for three credits. The student will maintain a time log for this purpose. The internship course is a Pass/Fail grade. Additional internship requirements will be completion of a portfolio, self-assessment paper and all assignments on BlackBoard.
Student internships are typically completed one or two semester(s) prior to graduation from the Paralegal Studies Program.
