Academic Advising

Student success is an important aspect of the Mission of the Department of Respiratory Care and advising throughout your academic career is a major factor in student success.

Academic Advising is a partnership between you and your faculty advisor where together you discuss and develop a plan for your academic success. At Boise State, academic advising is considered essential to your success.

Establishing a relationship with your faculty advisor early will allow your faculty advisor to:

  1. Help you achieve your academic goals
  2. Refer you to other resources as necessary
  3. Assess academic performance and strengths
  4. Introduce learning opportunities outside the classroom
  5. Provide effective communication of program requirements, policies, and procedures
