Details
GroupWise email can be accessed using the GroupWise client on your Windows or Macintosh computer.
Web users can use the GroupWise Web Access Client using any Internet connection by browsing to https://gw.boisestate.edu/
See our guide for information on using the GroupWise WebAccess Client.
Using Windows Vista?
Security features in Internet Explorer running under Windows Vista may cause difficulties when browsing to the GroupWise WebAccess client (as well as accessing BroncoWeb). To remedy this, do the following:
- Open Internet Explorer 7.0
- Click Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
- Make sure Use SSL 2.0 is checked
- Click OK
Installing the GroupWise Desktop Client
The GroupWise desktop client should already be installed on all University-owned computers. If you do not have GroupWise on your computer, please contact the Help Desk or your local area or college netadmin for assistance.
For installation on personal computers, contact the OIT Help Desk for assistance.
POP/IMAP - Using Other Email Clients
If you don't wish to use the GroupWise desktop or WebAccess client to read your GroupWise email, you can configure other e-mail clients to view your mail. To do so, your client must support the IMAP or POP protocols and it must support configurable SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connections. Popular examples of such e-mail clients are Thunderbird, OS X Mail, Outlook Express, and Entourage.
