England
Henry VII, 1485-1509
Henry had two sons and two daughters. His eldest was Arthur, who died in 1502 of consumption, thereby perpetuating the English myth that no king named Arthur would rule until Arthur himself returned. His second son was Henry, who became king in 1509.
His eldest daughter was Margaret, who married James IV of Scotland. When the Tudor line failed with Elizabeth in 1601, this is why King James VI of Scotland became also King James I of England.
Then came Mary, the youngest, who eloped with Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk. Being the youngest, she could be indulged in such matters.
So, Henry did his duty as far as establishing a new dynasty. He also left a strong legacy in recovering royal authority.
