Oh Grow Up!
Adolescence
Oaths taken by boys under age 14 could not be binding. Children rarely appeared in court.
Youths who were apprentices (and some journeymen) were not allowed to marry.
There were no drinking laws and they had at least some money. They formed gangs. Gambled and hung out in taverns. Frequented brothels. Brawled and harassed citizens. Younger boys emulated them and were their toadies.
Bridge fights
Italian towns; mock battles, neighborhood gangs Bridges over canals didn't have sides
Meet on the bridge and push or wrestle (or worse)
Married men didn't participate, though some of these battles became large and ritualized and had spectators
Others were spontaneous fights
Young boys cross over and taunt Run back
Sometimes people got hurt; sometimes they got killed Sometimes the encounter was the cause of further violence later
