What does an advisor do? An advisor helps you stay focused and on track. Advisors can help you take only classes that move you closer to graduation requirements. What is expected of me in the advising relationship? The advising relationship is a joint relationship where both the advisee and the advisor work together to understand graduation requirements. When should I talk with my advisor? It is up to you how often you want to check in with your advisor. If you make any changes to your Individual Degree Plan (IDP), they must be approved by your advisor. So really, WHY should I meet with an advisor regularly? Because two heads are better than one as it relates to BGS degree and Boise State requirements. Meeting with an advisor increases your chances of staying on track. |
